Ballet Rogue is a registered non-profit ballet collective based in Adelaide and regional South Australia. Artist-led and independent, we prioritise creative autonomy, collaboration and high-level ballet practice beyond mainstream pathways.

Our work focuses on creating meaningful performance opportunities, expanding ballet audiences across South Australia and building a collective where artists are supported to keep dancing and creating over time.

Michael is a dancer, choreographer and registered physiotherapist. With a versatile background spanning modern and contemporary work, he has performed in works by various choreographers and at international festivals including the Hong Kong Arts Festival 2019 and the International Choreography Festival 2019. He is currently also a research student at Adelaide University.

As a physiotherapist, Michael uses his expertise to give back to the dance community. He has been part of Ballet Rogue from early on, co-creating and performing in Bloom Ballet Gala and continuing into Beyond. He has since taken on a broader production role and many Ballet Rogue dancers have benefited from his support.

Diana Boots

Diana was born in the Netherlands and brings extensive experience in communications, marketing and community engagement. A passionate dance fitness instructor, she has also spent years connecting people of all ages and backgrounds through movement, music and community. Drawn to Ballet Rogue's creativity, accessibility and bold vision, Diana supports our collective through marketing, social media, sponsorship and strategic partnerships.

Ballet Rogue

Leanne has danced ballet since childhood and continued as a hobby into adulthood. When her own children started dancing, she began making costumes, a skill that has grown alongside her love for the artform.

She joined Ballet Rogue, drawn in by the energy of the backstage environment. In practice, Leanne is the collective's all-rounder: making sure dancers are fed, getting people where they need to be, listening when it's needed, fixing costumes on the spot and generally keeping everyone looked after. She also runs Granny Lanny Creations, offering dance costumes, pointe shoe sewing and handcrafted goods.

Rebekah Rowland

Rebekah is a former pre-professional ballet and contemporary dancer. She holds a BA in Ballet from Hungary (2016). Although accepted into the Dortmund Ballet company, she chose a different path.

Since then she has been teaching and occasionally performing. She is currently in the process of opening her own studio, Captivate Dance.

Rebekah joined Ballet Rogue in 2025 when she found she missed performing. She settled into the collective quickly, taking on rehearsal direction, polishing other choreographers' works and keeping operations moving through show season.
